Bidding is now open for our remarkable two-day Auction of Finest & Rarest Wines to be held on September 25 & 26 starting at 7:00am CT both days. The sale will set the stage for the second half of 2020 at HDH, with over 3,400 lots expected to garner $6.8-10.1 million. Bidders can utilize HDH's industry leading bidding platform, available via our mobile app or online at auction.hdhwine.com.

The September auction is made up of several distinguished and comprehensive collections and includes a tremendous assortment of wines. While all the groups offered in the sale should be carefully looked over, a few stand out as the stars of the sale.

HDH is pleased to offer a further selection from An Important East Coast Cellar (lots 289-346). Pristine Bordeaux and Burgundy in magnum format, mostly in original wooden cases, will come across the auction block alongside several lots of top Italian wines.

Also to be offered on Friday is A Monumental Cellar of Sine Qua Non (lots 643-954) which brings a unique opportunity for bidders looking to explore the range of this winery. This is by far the largest offering of SQN that HDH has ever offered at auction, consisting of over 280 half-bottles, 900 bottles, 150 magnums, and 9 double-magnums.

Saturday’s session will open with The André R. Donikian Collection (lots 1698-1863). This group is made up of an impressive array of Bordeaux from the best of the best Châteaux. Opening with 12 bottles of the legendary 1959 Château Haut-Brion (est. $15,000-22,000), with no conditions, is an ode to the type of collection this is. Bidders should browse this group carefully and bid with confidence.

An Attractive Group of Mostly Burgundy from the Cellar of a Long-Time Collector and Friend (lots 1864-2014) includes selections of DRC, Ponsot, Vogüé, Coche-Dury and more alongside an assortment of Bordeaux, Rhône, and Californian favorites.

A small part of a larger collection, An Important Private Cellar (lots 2134-2189) brings to auction a selection of top-notch Bordeaux, most still in original wooden cases. Large formats are abundant in this group with several imperial offerings like the 2003 Château Pétrus (est. $12,000-18,000).

Overall, this sale includes a tremendous selection of wine. There is truly something for every oenophile, and it should be carefully perused. Bidders should register via HDH’s mobile app or online at auction.hdhwine.com to place absentee and live bids.

As always, HDH is committed to offering well-stored, carefully inspected wines. Bidders should feel free to contact the Bid Department at bids@hdhwine.com or 312.445.0100 or visit the Support Portal if they have any questions about the bidding process or specific lots.
